THE OBJECT
Each vessel is selected for its shape, material and ability to live beyond its original purpose.
THE STORY
NOT WHAT YOU EXPECT transforms familiar industrial forms into collectible scented objects.
Each candle is hand-poured in Paris and designed to remain part of your interior long after the flame has disappeared.
THE IDEA
The project began with a simple question: why should a candle disappear once it has finished burning?
We wanted to create objects that feel unexpected at first sight, but become familiar through use.
The candle is only the beginning. What remains is an object designed to be kept, reused and reinterpreted.
Most candles are designed around fragrance and decoration.
NOT WHAT YOU EXPECT starts with the object itself: its form, material, presence and what it can become after use.
Industrial packaging, coloured glass and everyday containers are taken out of context and transformed into collectible scented objects.
THE CANDLE IS
ONLY THE BEGINNING.
THE PROCESS
01
Each vessel is selected for its shape, material and ability to live beyond its original purpose.
02
Each scent is developed to create a distinct atmosphere rather than simply reproduce a literal ingredient.
03
The candles are hand-poured in Paris using vegan soy wax and fine fragrance compositions.
04
Once the wax has burned away, the vessel can be cleaned and reused as part of everyday life.
Our candles are made using vegan soy wax and carefully selected fragrance compositions.
They are poured in small quantities to ensure a consistent finish and controlled production.
The vessels are designed to be durable, reusable and kept long after the candle has finished.

REUSABLE OBJECTS
A glass becomes a drinking vessel. A metal container becomes storage.
An object moves from one room to another and takes on a new function.
This second life is not an afterthought. It is part of the design from the beginning.
THE STUDIO
Every candle is prepared and poured by hand in Paris.
Working in small batches allows us to control each stage of production and develop new objects without relying on mass manufacturing.
The studio operates at the intersection of fragrance, product design and everyday culture.
